Seeing your site marked as "not secure" can be unnerving, for you and your visitors, but securing your site with an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate is easy!
We don't currently offer SSL directly, but you can add SSL security for your domain using a 3rd party service called Cloudfare. The best part is: it's free! Here's how to set it up:
- Click here to sign up for an account using the 'Free' plan.
- Go to the domain registrar for your domain and select the option to manage the domain's DNS.
- Select the option to change the domain's name servers and paste the name servers provided by Cloudfare into the name server fields and save the changes.
Note! It can take up to 24 hours for these DNS changes to take effect, but they usually go into effect much sooner.
Once you're all set your Cloudfare account should say "Status: Active" to indicate the domains is SSL secured. You can test this out by visiting your domain using 'https://' instead of 'http://' - you should see your site is now secured!
